I recently picked up a few Reaper miniatures from their Chronoscope sci-fi line. I was thinking that these minis are perfect for use with some future games of The Void rpg or perhaps Rifts which I am starting to become obsessed with. However lately I am starting to get more interested in wargaming and painting mini's.

I am rather new at painting, but these seem to be coming along pretty good. I think... <blush> but I def. need more practice.

I always thought of myself as a tabletop rpg gamer rather than a wargamer but now that I am in my 30's, have kids, and generally a busy domesticated lifestyle - geeking out with friends and playing RPGs can seem like more trouble than its worth (which sucks..but currently it is the truth for me) However now I am finding that painting some little guys can be pretty zen and playing a quick game with my kids pretty rewarding. This also gets them off of the TV/video game a bit too which is a bonus.

I recently bought the GW Warhammer 40K Dark Vengeance box set and my son and I have had a few quick intro games with it. Its fun but the mini's, oh jesus - for a new painter, the chaos armies (such as the Hellbrute) are pretty daunting. hehe I don't want to mess them up.... :)
